In the Kansas , exams, licensing, and continuing education for real estate agents are governed by the Kansas Real Estate Commission.

There are two basic real estate licenses in Kansas, a salesperson's license and a broker's license. Generally, a salesperson's license allows the holder to sell real estate only under the auspices of a licensed broker. • Must file an application for license within 4 months of the examination pass date (if the two parts of the examination were passed on different dates, the four-month time period begins from the earlier examination date).
  • Must have the application signed by a supervising or branch broker who certifies that the applicant is honest, trustworthy and of good reputation and who will be responsible for supervising the applicant's real estate activities.
