HOW TO OBTAIN AN ARIZONA REAL ESTATE LICENSE

In the State of Arizona, exams, licensing, and continuing education for real estate agents are governed by the Arizona Department of Real Estate.

There are two basic real estate licenses in Alabama, a broker's license and a salesperson's license. Generally, a salesperson's license allows the holder to sell real estate only under the auspices of a licensed broker. (Salesperson's licenses are generally what people refer to when they say they have a real estate license.)

To obtain the salesperson's license, a person must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education.
• Complete the Certification Questionnaire
• Have 1 year from the date you pass the state examination to apply for your license
• Not have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.
• Not have had a real estate application or license rejected or revoked in any state within the past two years.

To obtain the broker's license, a person must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrate at least three years of actual experience as a licensed real estate broker or real estate salesperson during the five-year period immediately preceding application.
• Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education.
• Not have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.
• Not have had a real estate application or license rejected or revoked in any state within the past two years.

If you have taken an Experior real estate salesperson's or broker's examination in another state within the last five years, you may be eligible for a waiver of the general portion of the Arizona salesperson's or broker's examination. You must have obtained a license after passing the Experior examination taken within the past five years, must be currently licensed, and must obtain a duplicate score report from Experior.
